I don’t want to read books that tell me what i already know

nice interview by Emmett stinson on the fringes of literature, and possible inadequacies of cultural institutions and epistemologies.

Also he talks about embracing confusion, and that it is confusion that makes you think. This is good coming right out of us watching Terence Mallick’s The Tree of Life.  There were definitely some moments that needed a little more mental probing and trying to watch it with the sound down was almost impossible.  The sparse narration was the most rewarding aspect of the show.
